Kick-off Methodology Review for the second Index Report

June 9, 2016
Share

On June 8, 2016 the Expert Review Committee (ERC) for the Global index convened to discuss the Access to Seeds Index 2016’ findings and to kick-off the methodology review for the Index. The ERC is composed of representatives from different stakeholder backgrounds and fields of expertise.

The first Index, the Access to Seeds Index 2016, provides a baseline measurement, which allows for an informed dialogue on the role of seed companies and a first reality check of the methodology. Experience with the Access to Medicine Index has shown that the methodology for the second Index needs to be built on a thorough review of the first methodology.

The Regional Index has its own ERC, composed of representatives from different stakeholder groups and fields of expertise throughout the region. The main task of this ERC is to review the methodology for the Regional Index for Eastern Africa, which differs slightly from the Global Index. The ERC for the Regional Index will convene at a later date.
