Company consultations ongoing

March 1, 2016
Share

Companies have been invited to provide feedback on the 2016 Index. The Access to Seeds Foundation visited the AFSTA conference in Nairobi (March) and will attend the APSA conference in Seoul (November), soliciting input from company and industry representatives on Index findings and continuing the conversation about the seed industry as a critical part of the solution to tackle global food insecurity.

Indigeous crops are typically the domain of regional seed companies, the Access to Seeds Index 2016 found. On the occasion of the AFSTA Congress, EASEED organised a field trip to its R&D farm Silver Oak in Thika. Varieties are tested at the farm, including those of indigenous or local crops.
