Joseph Ahenda has supported to Access to Seeds Foundation in setting up the first Access to Seeds Index for Eastern Africa in the capacity of team leader at Cardno Emerging Markets, from 2014 to 2016. He is a seed expert with experience in seed production systems and management at technical and governance levels. From 2012 he has been a policy and technical advisor for FAO in the Eastern African region, most notably in Somalia. From 2009-2012 he was general manager Inspection Operations at the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services (KEPHIS). Joseph holds a PhD in Agriculture & Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
